Knebworth Park and Gardens are currently open daily for the holidays, and on Good Friday and Saturday, April 14 and April 15, there is a children’s Easter Trail through the gardens and dinosaur trail.

The trail sheet costs £1 and can be purchased on the day from the gift shop, enabling families to have fun completing the trail with a fun reward.

Knights on horseback will be the main attraction at the Hertfordshire stately home on Easter Sunday, April 16 and Easter Monday, April 17.

There are two scheduled jousting displays on both days, at around 12.30pm and 2.30pm, depending on the weather.

The turrets and towers of Knebworth House provide a spectacular backdrop to the costumed knights on majestic horses galloping at full tilt across the arena in a fantastic display of horsemanship.

Knights will also demonstrate their skills in hand-to-hand combat to the delight of the crowds who are encouraged to cheer, and jeer, their favourites.

And for more family fun, the Green Dragon Bowmen Archery Club, who are based at Knebworth Park, will once again be offering visitors the chance to try some archery. It costs £2 for six arrows.

The jousting event is included in the Knebworth House 2017 season ticket, or with a Park and Gardens admission ticket.

Entrance costs £9.50 per person (under-3s go free), and families can enjoy a day at the Gardens, Park, Adventure Playground and trail of 72 life-sized dinosaurs.

You can save 10 per cent by booking your admission tickets online via the Knebworth House website at www.knebworthhouse.com
