Hitchin Town kept their unbeaten run going under caretaker boss Michael Jones with a 1-1 draw at Biggleswade Town.

They left it late though, Ciaren Jones finding the net with five minutes to go at Langford Lane, cancelling out a first-half goal from Cyrus Babaie.

It means both sides remain in the relegation zone of the Southern League Premier Division Central, the Canaries in 20th with the Waders two places below them at the foot of the table.

In Division One Central, Stotfold extended their winning sequence to three with a 3-2 win at home to Kidlington.

They had taken the lead through Haroon Meriai in the first half only to see Charles Bacon level for the Oxfordshire side early in the second half.

However, strikes from Joe Sellers-West and Meriai in an eight-minute spell gave them breathing space before Bacon got his second to set up a tense finish.

In the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division, unbeaten league leaders MK Irish proved too strong at home for Arlesey Town, winning 5-2.

The Blues had stunned their hosts though, twice taking the lead early on in the first half through Jack Vasey and Alex Harris.

Three goals in eight minutes midway through the half though swung the game firmly in Irish's favour.

Baldock Town meanwhile won 2-1 away to Sawbridgeworth Town in the first round of the Herts Senior Challenge Cup,

Goals from George Kingham and Remell Stirling set up a second-round clash away to Cheshunt.

Letchworth Eagles moved up to first in SSML Division One with a 4-3 win away to Huntingdon Town, two goals coming from Rod Agyeman-Duah and one each for Jack Trickett and Mokbul Ali.

And in Division Two of the SSML, Sean McMonagle was on target twice as Codicote won 2-0 at home to Caddington.
