Four home games this season, three wins and all with clean sheets.

The Lamex is becoming a fortress again, Charlton Athletic couldn't hold out against Stevenage once they got going and Jordan Roberts' goal gave them a deserved 1-0 win in League One.

Who stood out though from an individual point of view? The player ratings as I saw it from the press box.

Player ratings

Stevenage (0) 1 Charlton Athletic (0) 0

Murphy Cooper - 7

He'd have probably got the same mark just for the quick thinking that led to the goal, but that save in the first half was needed too. Only beaten once but had Piergianni there to clear the danger. It shows the strength of the defence at the minute. Everyone does their bit.

Luther Wildin - 7

This was better from him. Was overloaded in the early going but once they worked on how to fix that, it got Boro going forward and allowed him to relax more and play his game. That saw tackles, good covering runs and forays up the pitch. More please.

Dan Butler - 8

Something must have been in the water because he was immense. Big tackles, won headers, worked his socks off generally. I loved it, the headers especially. Often put himself where it hurt, hence he got a clout off the skipper as it was cleared off the line.

Nathan Thompson - 8

I had to remind myself halfway through that he has been brought in from out of the cold. Hugely experienced of course but he was almost faultless at times. The injuries to Dan Sweeney and Charlie Goode could have crippled some sides. Not if he is going to play like this.

Carl Piergianni - 7

That header off the line saved two of the three points but his all round game was as excellent as usual. The experience of him and Thompson is huge and the skipper's performances this season have been a big part of five clean sheets in eight league games.

Dan Kemp - 6

Didn't happen for him today, which I think I've said before. Too many balls didn't stick and his control and passing was not up to scratch at times. And he should score, yes it is a good block, but he should finish that.

Jordan Roberts - 8

There was a point towards the end of the first half where I noted in the live blog that he was starting to press a lot and with some success. It was no surprise that was the point when Stevenage truly came alive too. The goal summed up his work rate. If I'm being greedy, I'd want even more from him in an attacking sense, more goals too. This will do though. Comet Sport man of the match.

Tyreece Simpson - 5

I really do want him to come good but this was another game that passed him by. Too many times the ball came up to him and you expected him to use his strength and hold the defender off before laying in a team-mate. Too many times though the defender was able to snake out a boot and clear. He has to make it harder for them, then he'll be be able to play and get chances.

Elliott List - 6

Defensively he was good, made a couple of telling tackles but his time on the pitch was mostly in a team that wasn't creating any momentum. Worked hard though.

Harvey White - 6

Just in a little slump at the moment but you have to remember that he is in the longest run of fixtures at senior level. Set-pieces were alright and tackle is very good, but his passing wasn't great and the usual calmness he has on the ball in traffic has just deserted him a bit.

Louis Thompson - 7

Enjoying his football clearly and obviously loves the dark arts, the nitty-gritty. Was involved plenty in making sure Charlton didn't get too much time on the ball and he helped Boro get attacking once or twice.

Subs - Reid, Young, Phillips, King, Freeman.

All made a difference, Reid more noticeably but there was a bit more about Young. His fitness is coming and his eye for goal peeked out with one well-struck shot from a narrow angle. You want your subs to make an impact and they did.

Charlton stand-out players

Kayne Ramsay at right-back was OK and the two who went down the left, Tyreece Campbell and Josh Edwards, were to the fore in the early going. That though was down to the space they had. Soon drifted out of the game when Boro corrected that.

Overall

It was a very attacking line-up to start with but it took a long time to get going. Tactics needed tweak, personnel needed reminding of jobs, and then bang, it all came good.

A real moment of quality brought the winner but Boro started creating again in the second half, for the first time in a while. That was pleasing to see.

I'd like to see them really go at someone from the start. The games so far this season have been slow burners and the last two home games have only really come to life after the break.

Still five clean sheets in eight games suggests they are doing something good.
