Stevenage have to look inwardly ahead of their League One game against Barnsley according to manager Alex Revell - no matter how good the Tykes have been so far.

The South Yorkshire side sit third after five games with three wins and a draw, their only loss on the opening day against Mansfield Town.

Boro meanwhile have just four points from their first four games, although it should have been more says the boss.

And while he won't take Darrell Clarke's men lightly, that is why he is focused on what they can do more.

"They've started the season well," admitted Revell. "I've known Darrell for a long time and he's someone that demands [that level] from his players.

"He's had real success at previous clubs and now he's showing what he can do for Barnsley.

"But we've got to make sure that we turn up and go and show everybody what we are about.

"We've been really close to to having a much better start than what our points show. I think the performances deserve more, but we also know there's room for improvement in certain areas.

"When it all comes together, we know, 100 per cent, that we’ll be a really excellent team in this league, one that’s full of energy full of intensity and full of forward play.

"That’s what this last couple of weeks have been about and it is something we want to see against Barnsley."
