North Herts Road Runners have a world champion in their ranks - after a stunning run in Sweden.

Andrew Leach took the win in the M60 5,000m at the World Masters Championships, clocking a time of 16 minutes 59.67 seconds.

To celebrate her 69th birthday, Miranda Morgan and Sue Foot ran the challenging 32.5-mile Dorset Doddle along the coastal path from Weymouth to Swanage.

Closer to home Anna Greetham, Matt Roberts and Kyle Stout ran the Steeple Morden 10k Friendship Run, which was raising funds for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. 

Fairlands Valley Spartans also had a runner in Gothenburg at the World Masters.

Grant Ramsay was running in the M50 3,000m steeplechase and got a season's best time of 12:30 as he came 18th.

Spartan David Harris-Cherguit was third overall at the Burnham Beeches Half Marathon in a time of 1:17:33.

Another from FVS, Wendy Tharani, finished in 2:15:36.

Two from the club were in the top 10 at the Stevenage Parkrun, Ramsay third and Paul Shelley 10th.

Suzy Hawkins was first woman too.

Stevenage Phoenix had 17 parkrunners in seven locations with Martin Wasley celebrating his 100th milestone at Stevenage.

Martin’s son, Alex, also earned himself a parkrun PB of 19:09.

Jodie Kantas, Mason Simmons and Pete Tungate ran the Inferno Ring of Hell, a self-navigated trail run in the Peak District in Derbyshire.

Unfortunately a quarter of the way in, Tungate sprained his ankle resulting in his return back to camp.

The others continued though and completed the trail, logging a distance of 15.66 miles, in 4:33.

Phoenix also had a runner at Steeple Modern at the Friendship Run, Wendy Sumerbee running her first ever 10k in 1:10:13.

There were 59 from Stevenage Striders in parkrun action across 15 locations with Neil Walsh finishing his 50th.

While in Bulgaria, Lina Mi participated in the local equivalent of parkrun, known as 5KMRUN.

Despite the very humid conditions in Plovdiv, she completed the course in 22:52, setting a new PB and finishing as the first female.
