Moments win you football matches and Stevenage came up short in the biggest of them at Huddersfield Town according to manager Alex Revell.
Boro went on to lose 2-1 at the John Smith's Stadium, their only consolation a 95th minute penalty from Harvey White.
But after being completely bossed in the first half, and trailing 1-0, they made a double substitution, altered the tactics and should have been level before Ben Wiles bagged Town's second on 53 minutes.
And in League One, you cannot let those big opportunities slide away admitted the Boro boss.
"It was a bit Jekyll and Hyde," said Revell, "I think that’s the way to put.
"First half, we didn't get enough pressure to the ball and allowed them to dictate the play. I don't know why if I'm honest, why that mentality.
"We had changed the shape [at the start] to try and counteract what they do.
"It didn't materialise how we wanted it to but that's not an excuse. We still had to match a runner when they go through and for all their play, they score from a cross and we haven't marked a player.
"You have to take accountability for that.
"And then second-half, we've come out 1-0 down but for the first [few minutes], we absolutely stunned them and had them.
"Ultimately though, you cannot miss those opportunities at this level because if you do, it comes back to haunt you and that’s what we saw unfortunately.
"They have a chance in the middle of the goal, which again, is something they're a threat from, cut-backs to midfielders.
"And all of a sudden, you’re 2-0 down when it should be 1-1 and [the mood] of this place has changed.
"It’s moments, isn't it? I mean we’ve lost this game and you know, everybody talks about expected goals and it will probably be just as high as last week, and we won that.
"If we’ve get it back to 1-1, you're in the game and then penalties are given like that in the last minute. Then you come here and you don't draw, you win.
"That would have given us a real springboard to go on but if you miss those types of chances at this level, it comes back to bite you."

He explained the double switch at the break, bringing on Louis Appere and Dan Kemp for Tyreece Simpson and Charlie Goode, was about trying to spark a reaction.
And he was pleased with all of his replacements.
Revell said: "You have to be brave and you have to make those [type of] decisions that are sometimes difficult.
"They weren't difficult to me at the time. It needed to be changed and we needed more energy and more of an attacking threat.
"We saw that straight away, within 10 minutes, three chances straight away.
"Two fell to Louis Appere and he changed things in terms of running in behind, which is what we wanted.
"Dan Kemp was unlucky not to start but it was just the way that we went.
"But when you're not chosen to start, there's a way that you come onto the pitch and show that you should be starting.
"All the players that came on did that."
