Fears over the injury affecting Taye Ashby-Hammond have grown after Stevenage signed a second keeper on loan.
They had already drafted in Murphy Cooper, the QPR man impressing on his debut, the 1-0 win at home to Shrewsbury Town on League One's opening day.
And they have now moved to bring in Dean Bouzanis from Reading until January.
The 33-year-old has a wealth of experience, most notably with Oldham Athletic, Sutton United and Melbourne City.
Ashby-Hammond has been missing all through pre-season due to a hand injury.
