Alex MacDonald has linked up with Steve Evans again after signing for Rotherham United.
The midfielder had been in talks with extending his stay at Stevenage at the end of the season but like Kane Hemmings, who joined Crewe Alexandra last week, he has decided to seek opportunities elsewhere.
It is the fourth time MacDonald has been with the former Boro boss, having played with him at Mansfield Town and Gillingham before arriving at the Lamex Stadium last season.
The 34-year-old went on to make 34 appearances last year, scoring twice, against Derby County at home and Carlisle United away.
Speaking on the Millers' website, Evans said: "Macca is a really good signing for us.
"He is best described as a small part of a jigsaw that creates a fantastic picture when it is complete.
“He will have a part to play on the pitch when it is right to do so and I know he will be a major asset to the club in the season ahead."
