New Stevenage signing Louis Appere believes moving to the Lamex is "an exciting opportunity".
The forward has signed on a permanent deal after moving from League One divisional rival Northampton Town.
And he revealed that talks with manager Alex Revell helped sell him on the move, as well as first-hand experience over the last two seasons.
"I've had a good look around the place and I'm really excited," he said, speaking to the club's official website.
"I had a really good chat with Alex and he was really interested in bringing me on board. It was a good conversation.
"Stevenage have been doing well, got promoted the same time as [Northampton], and this is just a really exciting opportunity.
"[The gaffer] is an experienced forward himself and hopefully I can learn a good few things from him.
"I've played against a few of the guys and had some good battles with them.
"I'm sure it will be a great day when I walk out in front of the fans but it's a long way away. Let's get pre-season out of the way.
"I'll bring a lot of athleticism and pace to get in behind. I pride myself on my work rate and I will give everything in every game.
"And hopefully a few goals as well."
