It was a quiet week for running clubs - with mostly club runs.
For those who wanted to venture out to competitions and events, there were still options though.
Four from Stevenage Phoenix took on the Run the Wade 5k in Biggleswade.
This was the inaugural running of the event and it seemed to be well received by the field.
Starting in the market square the runners were treated to a flat and fast course which the Phoenician quartet took advantage of.
First home was Jo Heasman in 28 minutes 23 seconds followed closely by Zoe Shreeve (28:33), Heidi Cameron (28:54) and Mark Blease (29:52).
Scott Crawford doubled the distance by completing the very popular Hatfield Broad Oak 10k on Bank Holiday Monday, finishing in 59:05.
However, all that paled besides Lisa Liversidge who took on the Greensand Ridge Challenge 50k in Bedfordshire.
The off-road event was tough at times, the weather not helping either, but she came home in 7:26:16 to set a new ladies' 50k club record for her age group.
Jim Brown and Ros Ingram of Fairlands Valley Spartans were also at Hatfield Broad Oak, the former finishing in 53:38 while the latter managed 55:47.
The Stevenage Parkrun celebrated its eighth birthday on Saturday with 23 Spartans among the 488 finishers.
Of them Kirk Ndugu was second and Grant Ramsay fifth.
North Herts Road Runners picked up some good times as well.
Sue Foot was another taking on the Greensand Ridge 50k, getting a time of 6:56,
Hannah Ridley was in the Run the Wade 5k field too, and she stormed to first place in the ladies competition, and seventh overall, in a PB of 19:28.
Further afield, Elwyn Howell completed the Great West 10k in Exeter in a time of 52:58, second in his age category.
