It was a mixed weekend but Preston are up and running for the 2024 cricket season.
Saturday saw them play in the Hertfordshire T20, exiting in the group C semi-finals played at Harpenden.
They were up against Chorleywood but lost by three wickets.
Put into bat, they made 87-7 in their 14 overs, Omar Faleel top scoring with 29 while there was 21 in 12 balls for Ed Wharton.
Chorleywood got to their target in the 13th over though, despite 3-22 from Max Anderson.
One day later they had victory though, beating Sharnbrook & Bromham in the National Village Cup.
Again Preston batted first, posting 195-9 in their 40 overs, Wharton adding another 74 while Will Mercer went for patience with his 55.
And in replay the home side were all out for 157 in the 37th over, 38 runs short.
In-swinger Ollie Gallimore led the way with 5-19 in his eight overs.
They get their Herts Cricket League Championship season started on Saturday at home to Hemel Hempstead Town.
Newly-promoted Letchworth meanwhile are at Chorleywood.
Hitchin go to Sawbridgeworth in Division One but there home games for both Stevenage and Knebworth Park in Division Two A and B respectively.
Ickleford are at Letchworth seconds in Division Three A with Datchworth at Allenburys & County Hall.
Baldock go to Rickmansworth in Division Six A.
