A young Arlesey boxer is already on the road to great things after winning national titles and international tournaments.
Anthony Connors, who goes to Etonbury Academy in Stotfold, won the Carolina Gloves over in the USA when he was nine, having two fights with one stopped and the other awarded to him by unanimous decision.
In September of last year, Connors won the USA Thump Yard competition, this time going through three bouts with two of them ending in stoppages and one in another unanimous verdict.
Now 11, he is gone on to become the Irish schoolboys' title at 37kg after five victories in five fights.
He began with a stoppage win to claim the Galway county title, and two more battles took him to the Connacht championship.
The final two fights took place earlier this month and while they both went the distance, Connors having the backing of all the judges in both contests, making him an Irish champion.
His next plan is to set about winning the English title.
