There was mixed feelings for the sides that call New Lamb Meadow their home in the FA Vase.
Landlords Arlesey Town were at home and a Bruno Brito goal against Penn & Tylers Green was enough to give them a 1-0 win and spot in the first round proper.
They are home to Eynesbury Rovers in the next round, the St Neots-based team currently 16th in the United Counties League Premier Division South table with two wins and a draw from their 10 games.
However, tenants Baldock Town were not as fortunate in their second qualifying round match as they lost 3-0 away to Tilbury of the Essex Senior League.
The third qualifying round of the FA Trophy was also drawn with Hitchin Town among the step three sides making their bow in the competition.
And they will be at home with divisional rivals Stamford the visitors.
The winners of each tie, scheduled for Saturday, October 7, will receive £2,450 while the losers will get £625.
The Canaries also played out a 0-0 draw at home to Barwell while Letchworth Eagles lost 2-1 to Royston Town Res in SSML Division One.
Stotfold were without a game.
