Stevenage may yet have made one more signing - with the capture of a much-vaunted Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.
Harvey White was on the brink of arriving from the Premier League giants on a permanent deal.
The 21-year-old, who scored for Spurs' U23s at the Lamex on Tuesday night, had been touted to leave White Hart Lane on deadline day with numerous clubs interested.
And the surprise exit of Josh March to Harrogate Town, and more particularly the fee involved, may have been the catalyst for Boro's last gasp attempted signing.
The pursuit had all looked for naught until the minutes after the window closing when it came out that a deal sheet had been lodged with the Premier League, allowing more time for the transfer to go through.
A deal sheet can only be used after 9pm when there is a 11pm deadline, as there was yesterday, and gives clubs another two hours to submit the full paperwork.
Nothing has been made official from either club or shown on the Premier League website, however.
White has previous experience of League One having had loan spells with Portsmouth and Derby County.
