Stevenage manager Steve Evans says there should no problem with the likes of Dan Sweeney and Harry Anderson after returning from injury at Exeter City.

The pair both played at St James Park in the Carabao Cup, Anderson coming off the bench to grab an assist in the 1-1 draw while Sweeney played the full match.

Boro return to League One action on Saturday with a trip to Leyton Orient and the boss expects his recovering stars to be involved.

"We don’t expect any issues," he said. "If there are, it is not reflective of Tuesday. 

"We’ll see if they train properly [on Friday] but the main test is when they come back into the group and they play at pace with all the physicality. 

"Sweeney could play a full 90 again, there’s no concerns with that. You wouldn’t want him to play a full 90 and then go out and play another 90 at AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday in the EFL Trophy. 

"Our team at Wimbledon will bear no resemblance to the one we put out at Orient, I can say that now. 

"We have to manage them but the fact Dan could play the full game against Exeter and still be running after 95 shows you what fantastic condition the kid is in. 

"He deserves enormous credit, as does Elliott List to go 75 when the plan was to go 45. 

"These lads want to play and that is important."

Anderson caught the eye in his cameo off the bench and Evans sees him very much as a danger down the flanks.

The boss said: "[I see him as a] right winger but he can play left. He’s a very strong boy and he can get at people. 

"He’s brilliant technically and he came off the bench at Exeter with a real desire. 

"He kept standing up on the bench and looking over my shoulder as if to say I’m still here. 

"He will be a big player for us over the course of the season. We have just had to manage the groin issue that he had. 

"Everyone had forgot that he had signed, including our supporters, but they won’t forget that cross he put in for the goal on Tuesday. 

"He’s probably the only player on the pitch who could put that right on Jordan’s head to score."
