Stevenage have splashed the cash by bringing in Ben Thompson from Peterborough United.
The 27-year-old midfielder joins Steve Evans’ side for "an undisclosed fee".
He arrives at the Lamex with more than 200 appearances in the EFL, including five seasons in the Championship with his first club Millwall.
He has also spent time in the same division with Gillingham and Portsmouth.
"I’m looking forward to getting started”, he said. "I’ve played against the manager’s teams for several years now and I have always liked the way he does things.
"I’m delighted to get this over the line."
He joins fellow new summer signings that include brothers Nathan and Louis Thompson.
He is, however, no relation.
