Stevenage have been charged by the FA after a fan ran onto the pitch during the League Two game with Bradford City in February.
The incident happened in the final stages of the match, a game that Boro lost 3-2.
A young man ran on from the East Terrace and made a beeline for Bradford's Andy Cook before being bundled to the ground at the last moment and then frogmarched off by a couple of the Stevenage players, Michael Bostwick and Alex Gilbey.
His exit back to the terrace was greeted with shoves and anger by some Stevenage fans.
The statement from the FA said: "Stevenage FC has been charged with misconduct in relation to crowd control for an incident that took place at its match against Bradford City on Saturday 11 February in the EFL League Two.
"It's alleged that the club failed to ensure its spectators and/or supporters - and anyone purporting to be its supporters or followers - conduct themselves in an orderly fashion at the match, and do not behave in a way that is improper, threatening, or provocative, and/or encroach on to the pitch or commit any form of pitch incursion.
"Stevenage FC has until Tuesday, 6 June 2023 to respond."
One day after the incident, Stevenage reported measures had been taken against the individual, including a stadium ban.
Boro said: "Stevenage Football Club confirms that action is being taken against the individual who entered the pitch during Saturday’s fixture against Bradford City AFC.
"Entering the pitch is a criminal offence and puts players, officials and supporters at great risk. This is not tolerated at the Lamex Stadium.
"Football stadiums should be a safe and enjoyable space for everyone, and these incidents are completely unacceptable and have no place in our game.
"The individual has been arrested, issued a ban from the Lamex Stadium and the club are working closely with the police and their investigation.
"The club is also reviewing the stewarding response and protocols following the incident."
