Carl Piergianni had nothing but praise for Saxon Earley as the youngster departs Stevenage for League One.
Manager Steve Evans confirmed after the 3-1 win over Crawley Town that the on-loan Norwich City full-back had been recalled by the Canaries as they were selling him to a "very top-end League One club".
And the 20-year-old's defensive colleague has no doubt he deserves the switch, reported to be to Plymouth Argyle.
Boro skipper Piergianni said: "Fair play to him for coming in and doing what he did. [Loan] moves don’t always work out and people don’t always have the right attitude.
"But he’s come in and been a great character in the dressing room.
"He’s worked hard for us every day, had the right attitude and put in some great performances.
"He’ll be missed and all the boys wish him well for the future.
"But we have a strong squad and Max Clark has played a lot this season already. He’ll do well."
