Steve Evans was full of admiration for his side after earning a point away at League Two leaders Leyton Orient.
The clash between the top two in the division was a full-blooded as was expected but it ended in a 0-0 draw.
That was the right result on the day according to the Stevenage boss.
He said: "It was an equal game at the end of it that was limited in good chances.
"But based on golden chances though, I think we had the two best of the game but they didn’t fall for us.
"They had a bit of possession but they are a possession-based team.
"They have big resources and anyone who gets close to these [will do well].
"We’re probably one of the few teams that has come here, played two strikers and an advanced three, and have a go.
"I’ve watched games here as a neutral and teams sit off and wait to concede.
"We’ll never do that."
The first 20 minutes were superb viewing for those watching on TV before the game settled into a pattern of tackle, press and the odd opportunity.
Stevenage were probably the better of the two in that early going though, something that delighted the manager.
Evans said: "I thought we were terrific and we spoke about starting right and the importance of the first goal, whether that came in the first minute or the last.
"After the game settled down, I said on the bench it would have been nice if we’d got a goal because our momentum deserved one.
"They’ve got top players though for the level and you can understand why they are top of the league.
"The reality is that we are the surprise package of the Football League, not just some of it, all of it.
"We showed that we have players in that dressing room that are willing to give everything.
"We’ve got no complaints. We had people get off their sickbed and dragged them in to travel and play.
"I’ve got nothing but admiration for the boys in our dressing room."
