James Walsh is first home for the club at the First Saturday of the Month race
It was First Saturday of the Month 5K time for North Herts Road Runners, and the club played host to 63 runners for two laps of Norton Common in Letchworth.
First and second places went to the Squirrels themselves, with James Walsh home in 19mins 16secs followed by John Auld in 19:24.
Next club member home was James Keogh, who was sixth in 20:38, with Katie Harbon eighth overall and first lady in 21:36.
Johnny Spinks was next for the club in 22:47, with Steve Lummis following on in 23:38.
Robert Fletcher and John Cooper were next home in 24:24 and 24:32 respectively while Verity Hague was next club lady to finish in 24:48.
Chris Priestley finished in 25:06, Helen Harbon in 25:08, Colin Calcutt in 25:10, Paul Bowal in 26:18, Jo Harbon in 27:37, Brian Judkins in 31:44, Pat Norris in 33:15, Lindsay Cook in 34:27, Geoff Pettengell in 34:30 with Lorayne Seaholme completing the club’s results in 34:53.
Ollie Garbas was sampling a different 5K as part of his international tour of Parkruns – this time he was in Barnet, at Oak Hill.
After starting cautiously due to a calf problem, he decided to step up the pace and on a fairly flat and well-surfaced course he finished second in 19:13.
Nick Malpeli was the sole Squirrel representative at the Wokingham Half Marathon, where he put in an impressive performance to finish 83rd overall in a PB of 1:20:26 – giving him an age-graded performance score of over 80 per cent.
