Arlesey teenage boxer Patrick Connors won a silver medal on his debut fighting for England schoolboys in the GB Three Nations Championships this weekend at the Doncaster Dome.
The 13-year-old, who trains at London’s Hooks ABC, had beaten Wales’ Ashley Purnel in the 38.5kg category on Friday.
He then fought Scotland’s Sean Coyle on Saturday losing out on points to end with a silver medal.
England’s team manager at the event, Darren Chapple, said: “It was a great weekend for England’s boxers.
“The fact that this young team secured 21 of the 23 gold medals available is testament to the strength and success of our talent programme.”
