Plans are well advanced for the new campaign at Stevenage Cricket Club and the excitement levels are already rising.

One day prior to the government's roadmap to easing sporting restrictions was announced, apparently giving cricket the green light for a full and hopefully interrupted season, the Ditchmore Lane-based club held their AGM.

The club has entered five teams in the Herts Cricket League plus one squad in the North Herts League on Sundays.

Conor Hayward will continue as the first-team captain, with Carl Richards and Suman Iranganti also remaining with the seconds and thirds.

Martin Nevill will also stay as club captain, overseeing selection and training, something chairman Richard Burling believes "will bring stability and reassurance to".

The club also announced that the overhaul of the club's nets is due to be completed this month and they will be ready when training starts.

Training nights will be spread over the week and dependant on team while there will be an open club practice on Thursdays and junior training on Sunday mornings.
