As the classic film of the 1970s, The Railway Children brought much joy to the screen when it showcased the famous Victorian locomotive, Green Dragon, and put the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway firmly on the map.

Known as ‘The Railway Children Line’ its iconic route is still much-loved some 50 years later and we’ve teamed up with Just Go to offer readers a discounted price for this unique trip which is now priced from £129pp, previously priced £169pp.

From your local pickup location, the adventure departs on September 29 with the coach heading for York. Guests can discover the historic city at their leisure and explore the shops and museums it has to offer.

After an overnight stay and breakfast, the first stop is the charming village of Oxenhope where it’s then all aboard as you take your seats behind the iconic Green Dragon.

The five-mile round trip takes in breathtaking landscapes of heather and the windswept Yorkshire moors, a break at the Edwardian-style, Oakworth Station, which featured in both the 1970 original and the 2022 sequel, the Railway Journey, and a delicious Yorkshire snack and drink.

A talk by Graham Mitchell, who starred as the train guard in the original film, and behind-the-scenes facts and the fun stories on set from Chris Witty, who played the boy in the red jersey, also form part of the tour.

Soak up the sights and sounds on this nostalgic trip which includes return coach travel, an overnight stay at a selected hotel with breakfast and dinner and a goody bag (one per person).
