There are plans for a new play area in Stevenage Town Centre Gardens, the Comet can reveal.
The existing play area in Stevenage Town Centre Gardens has been closed since summer 2022 "due to safety concerns resulting from the deterioration of the safety surfacing around the play equipment", Stevenage Brough Council said.

Now the council has confirmed: "We are currently exploring options to provide a brand new play area in Town Centre Gardens and we hope to be able to provide an update soon.
"In the meantime, we continue to inspect the play area to ensure that appropriate signage is maintained and items of equipment can be taken out of use if necessary.
"Other nearby play areas include King George V Playing Field, Market Place and Bedwell Park."
