A driver has been arrested over a crash on the A1(M) this morning (Monday) which has left a child seriously injured.
Police were called at 6.21am following reports of a serious multi-vehicle road traffic collision on the A1(M) northbound near Stevenage.
All three emergency services attended the scene.
The driver of a Renault Megane, a man, has been arrested in connection with the incident and is in hospital for treatment.
A child, who was travelling in the same vehicle, is also in hospital, with serious injuries.
The A1(M) remains closed between junctions 8 and 9 northbound, and these closures are expected to remain in place for some time.
