Pop-rock band McFly and pop-synth icons The Human League have been announced as headliners at Bedford Summer Sessions.
On Sunday, July 13, McFly will take to the stage, bringing their high-powered energy to Bedford Park.
It’s been 21 years since the band first burst onto the scene with breakout hit 'Five Colours In Her Hair,' evolving into one of the UK’s most successful acts.
With seven UK number one singles, including 'All About You' and 'Star Girl,' alongside seven top 10 albums and over 10 million sales, McFly have earned multiple platinum certifications and a BRIT Award for Best British Pop.
Fresh from celebrating their 21st anniversary with two sold-out O2 Arena shows, McFly will deliver a set that reflects on their impressive career while showcasing tracks from their latest album, ‘Power to Play’.
The Human League, synth-pop’s first international superstars, will headline Bedford Summer Sessions on Thursday, July 10.
Formed in Sheffield in 1977, the band rose to prominence with their 1981 album Dare, which propelled them to global fame with hits like 'Don’t You Want Me' - a song that topped both UK and US charts and redefined electronic music.
Their ground-breaking fusion of electronic rhythms and cutting-edge production continued to dominate the charts throughout the '80s and '90s with tracks like 'Mirror Man,' '(Keep Feeling) Fascination,' and 'Human.'
A BRIT Award for Best British Breakthrough Act and a career that has influenced generations of artists solidify their status as pioneers of synth-pop.
Known for their innovative live shows, including Adrian Wright’s striking visual presentations, The Human League bring a fresh vivacity to every performance.
Joining them for this unmissable night are Tom Bailey, frontman of the Thompson Twins, delivering upbeat, nostalgic classics like 'Hold Me Now' and 'Doctor, Doctor,' and Blancmange - the acclaimed synth-pop duo behind hits like 'Living On The Ceiling' and 'Don’t Tell Me.'
McFly and The Human League will join previously announced headliners Supergrass, Simple Minds, and Rag’n’Bone Man for a Bedford Park summer takeover throughout July.
Tickets for the new names go on general sale on Friday at smmrsessions.com and ticketmaster.co.uk.
