No arrests have been made in connection with a string of car arsons in Stevenage, despite "extensive enquiries" by police.

In the early hours of October 8, firefighters were called to Vardon Road at 1.17am where three cars were on fire.

That was followed by calls to an incident in Jessop Road at 1.44am, where one car was on fire, and then at 2.25am, crews rushed to Canterbury Way where another three cars were on fire in a car park.

In total, seven cars were set ablaze, with police believing three cars were deliberately targeted and four more subsequently caught fire.

Herts police confirmed it was treating the incident as a suspected arson, but almost two months later no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

"Despite reviewing CCTV footage and conducting extensive enquiries, no arrests have been made at this time," a Herts police spokesperson told The Comet.
