The festive spirit was really on show in Letchworth on Saturday, with people braving the rain for the Christmas lights switch-on.
People of all ages came into the town centre to enjoy food, drink and entertainment.
The entertainment ranged from Letchworth brass band to The Grinch, Jack Frost stilt walkers, film characters and even a super-sized illuminated barn owl.
The Harpenden Pipe Band enthralled the crowds with a performance, before children's entertainer Auntie Kitty turned on the Christmas lights.
Richard Harbon, who manages the BID team who put the event on, said: "What a wonderful day for our brilliant garden city.
"People from all across Letchworth and surrounding areas came into the town centre to help celebrate Christmas and everything our town has to offer.
"Thank you to each and every one who came out to support the event and the town on Saturday. It looked like everyone had a brilliant day. Happy Christmas!"
