Hundreds of tractors and farm vehicles covered in Christmas lights and decorations will be bringing some festive cheer to the streets of Baldock, Letchworth and Hitchin as the ‘Farmers on Christmas Lights Tour’ returns.

On Saturday, December 21, the vehicles will be draped in flashing lights, snowmen, snowflakes and Christmas trees as part of fundraising efforts for Garden House Hospice.

You will be able to see the Christmas convoy in the following locations:

  • 6pm in Baldock - The convoy begins in Clothall Road before making its way through the High Street
  • 6.45pm in Letchworth - The convoty then arrives via Pixmore Way, circling Broadway Gardens roundabout, before moving onto Eastcheap and Leys Avenue
  • 7.30pm in Hitchin - The vehicles then go to Hitchin, ending at St Marys Car Park for the perfect finale of fairground rides and treats

Organised by farmer Richard Hill and Garden House Hospice Care, it is hoped that the event will raise £50,000 for the charity.

"Our aim is to raise £50,000 in donations, which will pay for one week of care for all patients on our Inpatient Unit over the festive season, including the cost of nursing and our doctors, and running costs like water and keeping the unit clean," reads a post of the hospice's website.

"Every pound raised will really will make a difference.

"You can donate on the night or through our website, via JustGiving or by texting TRACTOR to 70460 to donate £5. Texts will cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message."
