Police carried out an operation in Hitchin on Friday (November 8) aimed at tackling drivers who are speeding and contravening a 'no entry' sign.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a short operation on High View, focussing on motoring offences.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "This is in response to numerous concerns raised by residents over vehicles contravening the ‘no entry’ sign and travelling at excess speed.
"Five vehicles were stopped and drivers reported for offences, with lots of happy residents thanking officers.
"Officers plan to conduct further operations across the town in the forthcoming weeks, with a zero tolerance approach."
