A popular bakery and coffee shop in Stevenage is set to permanently close, after the owner opened another bakery in a North Herts village.
Izabela Stuchlik is closing Leavened Bakery in Stevenage Old Town so she can concentrate her efforts on building her business at Lannock Farm in Weston.
Leavened Bakery was established in Stevenage Indoor Market in 2020, before expanding to the Old Town in May last year. In June this year, Izabela opened another bakery in Weston. The market stall has since closed.
Now, Izabela is closing the Old Town shop.
She said: "After a very busy and successful year and a bit in Stevenage Old Town, I would like to let you know that Leavened Stevenage will be open for the last time on Saturday, November 16.
"It has been a difficult decision, but we have decided to focus on one location, and also on fusing a good work/life/health balance, which isn’t possible with two extremely busy locations.
"We will carry on baking from our location in Weston at Lannock Farm.
"As we will be able to focus all our resources on one place, we will be expanding our lovely offer and also extending opening hours.
"We are also planning some exciting workshops and small events - all only 10 minutes drive from Stevenage.
"We are very grateful and humbled by the love we got from our customers in the Old Town and we hope that most of you can, and will, follow us for more delicious bakes.
"Thank you for all your support."
