Baldock Rotary recently hosted a sell-out jazz concert to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND).

The event took place at Knights Templar School and attracted 150 people.

The audience was entertained by the Apex Jazz Band, comprising Peter Chapman on clarinet, Andy Moran on trumpet, Adrian Cosker on tenor sax, Martin Ley on trombone, Mike O’Neill on piano, Len Crawley on percussion, and Tomas Pederson on bass.

They played a variety of jazz numbers, including 'Ain’t Misbehavin', 'C’est Magnifique', 'Georgia On My Mind', and 'Can’t Give You Anything But Love'.

The evening concluded with renditions of 'Bring Me Sunshine' and 'Bourbon Street Parade'.

The event was organised by Carol and Keith Britter and included a fish and chip supper and a raffle.

Keith Britter thanked the attendees, helpers, and prize donors for their generosity.

Rotary President Garry Blyth praised Carol’s organisational skills and presented her with a bouquet of flowers.

The concert is one of the many fundraising events Baldock Rotary organises to support: charitable causes, the community and international disaster relief efforts.

The club is looking for new members to join their cause and encourages those interested to visit rotary-ribi.org or contact membership secretary, Michael Muir, on 07909 002631.
