Fifty daring participants walked over red-hot coals at Lister Hospital, raising thousands of pounds for hospitals in the process.
The fire walk, organised by the East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity, saw participants - including former patients, their families and NHS staff - raise more than £16,000 on Friday, November 1.
The funds will support Lister Hospital, Hertford County Hospital, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, and New QEII Hospital.
Beth McNeil, head of fundraising for the charity, said: "The funds raised will make an enormous difference to patients, families and staff at our hospitals, so we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped us achieve this fantastic amount."
Liam Gallagher, from Cambridge, who raised more than £1,700, said: "I took part after seeing the incredible treatment and care that my dad received at Lister Hospital following his cancer diagnosis, both before and after his treatment."
