A new charity shop in Hitchin is taking shape ahead of its opening this weekend.
The Willow Foundation will be opening its store at 7 The Arcade from 10am on Saturday (November 2), with former Dancing on Ice star Frankie Seaman cutting the ribbon.
Ahead of the opening, a large window display with clothing and other items has been put up, with the in-store displays created using 70 per cent sustainable materials, such as repurposed wood, which would otherwise be wasted.
Willow, a charity based in Welwyn Garden City, creates bespoke experiences for seriously ill 16 to 40 year olds across the UK.
It was set up in 1999 by former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson and his wife Megs in memory of their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer aged 31.
Frankie, who is Willow’s honorary president, added: "The work that Willow does is incredible and the shops play a key part in being able to offer seriously ill young adults the chance to make precious memories with loved ones. I’m really looking forward to being there as we open our new shop."
Willow is taking over 7 The Arcade after Our Favourite Shop, which sold vintage clothing and vinyl records, closed earlier this year.
