Richard Ashcroft has been announced as the Sunday headliner for SMR 25 at Stevenage's Lamex Stadium.
Taking place on May 23, 24 and 25, organisers KB Concerts promised "big-name artists" for the three-day series of stadium shows, and they have delivered with the booking of the former Verve frontman.
Ashcroft achieved plenty of success with the band, as The Verve became one of the biggest bands of the 1990s when their third studio album, Urban Hymns, topped the UK album chart.
To this day, Urban Hymns is the 18th best-selling UK album of all-time, and spawned top 10 hits Lucky Man, The Drugs Don't Work and Bitter Sweet Symphony.
Ashcroft will be joined on the Sunday by The Zutons - whose song Valerie made it to number 9 in the UK charts before becoming a huge hit for Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson - as well as The Futureheads and Optimist.

"We have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure each day attracts a different demographic of household names, to bring a larger music event to the local area with a view of this being an annual event for higher-end shows whilst keeping costs as low as possible to make music accessible to everyone," said KB Concerts owners Ben Allingham and Kriss Lawrence.
Stevenage FC director Stuart Dinsey added: "This a hugely exciting new music event for the town, bringing globally known artists to the Lamex Stadium.
"The organisers have proven themselves with the success of other local events, so we jumped at the chance to work with them. SMR 25 will further strengthen our work with the local community and beyond."
Councillor Richard Henry, leader of Stevenage Borough Council, continued: "It’s great to hear about another large-scale event being planned within the Stevenage calendar.
"Our town has a strong heritage of music and culture, and it’s fantastic to see this set to continue to grow. Events such as this are also great for the local economy, bringing lots of people to the area to see what Stevenage has to offer."
