As Halloween draws near, plenty will be picking up a pumpkin to carve for spooky season.
Here are five pumpkin patches across Hertfordshire that you need to visit.
1. The Pop Up Farm - Flamstead
A family-run and family-friendly farm just off Junction 9 of the M1, The Pop Up Farm patch is spread across 12 acres.
The farm offers day tickets costing £5.95, although pumpkins are not included in the price.
So grab a wheelbarrow, a hot dog and get pumpkin picking.
2. Hitchin Lavender - Hitchin
In the summer months, Hitchin Lavender's expanse of fields is full of colour and bathed in sunlight, but October sees a big change.
The site turns orange and is jam-packed with pumpkins, which you can go and pick from just £3, seven days a week.
Hot dogs and soup will be served and the tea room will be open, with the venue also putting on a Halloween trail and play fort for children to enjoy.
3. Willows Activity Farm - St Albans
Pumpkin pickers heading to Willows Activity Farm this month can look forward to a jolly gourd day out as the leisure attraction near St Albans kicks off its annual Pumpkin Festival on October 19.
The festival will also take place on October 20, and pumpkin picking will be available from October 25 to November 1.
"Pick your pumpkin from Willow’s Pumpkin Patch and enjoy a full programme of pumpkin-tastic fun," their website reads.
"We’ve got thousands of Willows pumpkins for children to pick. There’s also a Pumpkin Hunt for you all to enjoy with a prize for all those taking part."
4. Cammas Hall Farm - Hatfield Broad Oak
Pumpkin pickers can head to Cammas Hall Farm up until October 30 to pick from their massive patch.
The farm is also running a number of spooky events, Halloween Maize Maze, a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde Show and Dead Legends music night.
There will be 60 varieties of pumpkin and squash to choose from.
5. Church Farm - Ardeley
Located just outside of Stevenage, Church Farm will be hosting their Halloween Spookfest from October 19 to 31.
You can pick your own pumpkin, as well as plenty more to see and do, including the Spooky Farm Trail to see all the farm animals and Halloween décor and a Scarecrow Trail.
The perfect Halloween half-term day out for the family.
