A former star of ITV's Dancing on Ice is set to open a new charity shop in Hitchin town centre next month.
Professional ice skater Frankie Seaman will cut the ribbon to officially open the Willow shop in Arcade Walk.
Willow, a charity based in Welwyn Garden City, creates bespoke experiences for seriously ill 16 to 40 year olds across the UK.
It was set up in 1999 by former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson and his wife Megs in memory of their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer aged 31.
The new Willow shop in Hitchin will open at 10am on November 2, with Frankie cutting the ribbon. There will also be luxury hampers to be won and a lucky dip for children.
The shop, which will be open seven days a week, will have a focus on sustainability, with their in-store displays created using 70% sustainable materials, such as repurposed wood, which would otherwise be wasted.
Cheryl Aldridge, head of retail at Willow, said: "I’m thrilled to share the news that we will be opening a new shop in Hitchin.
"The team have been working tirelessly to get everything ready for opening day and I can’t wait to show the people of Hitchin what Willow has to offer."
Frankie, who is Willow’s honorary president, added: "The work that Willow does is incredible and the shops play a key part in being able to offer seriously ill young adults the chance to make precious memories with loved ones. I’m really looking forward to being there as we open our new shop."
With this latest opening, Willow is calling on people to volunteer their time and donate quality stock. Anyone interested in volunteering opportunities can visit willowfoundation.org.uk/volunteer or ask in store.
Donations of clothing, accessories and bric-a-brac can be made at the shop from Monday, October 21.
