More than £4,000 has been given to community groups in Royston and Baldock to help continue their work.
North Herts Council allocated the funding to Creative Chefs CIC and Royston and District Parkinson's Group following recommendations from the Royston and Baldock & District Community Forums.
Creative Chefs CIC was awarded a total of £3,524 to continue their cooking sessions for children.
These workshops teach children about healthy food choices, cooking main meals, and using seasonal ingredients.
More than 550 children have already benefited from these sessions, which help to reduce health inequalities.
Angie Marshall, founding director creative chefs CIC, said: "I am absolutely delighted to be able to offer my Creative Chefs programme to the children of Baldock and Royston.
"The funding will be used to deliver fun healthy cooking sessions, to make cooking accessible to all and to inspire the next generation to be healthy eaters.
"In addition, part of the funding will be used to show children how to put together a lunch for when they are on school holidays and do not have school meals to fall back on.
"A huge thank you to North Herts Council for these very needed funds."
Royston and District Parkinson’s Group received £1,092 to assist with venue hire and card readers for their 'Staying Active with Parkinson’s' sessions.
These events, which include singing, Pilates tasters, and research presentations, offer crucial support to those living with Parkinson’s in the area.
David Bance, treasurer of Royston and District Parkinson’s group, said: "I am delighted to receive, on behalf of the local Parkinson’s committee, the community grant which will ensure we can maintain a source of support for our Parkinson’s, community."
Jeanette Thompson, service director for Legal & Community at North Herts Council, said: "We’re proud to support these fantastic community initiatives that enrich the lives of local residents - we’re excited to see them continue to grow and succeed."
The next Royston Area Forum on December 4 and Baldock Area Forum on December 2 will provide more opportunities for community groups to apply for further support.
