A musical comedy promising 'pure joy' and '80s nostalgia' is coming to Stevenage.

The Lytton Players will be putting on a production of The Wedding Singer, based on the 1998 film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

The show will run at the Lytton Theatre from October 23 to 26.

The musical is set in 1985 and follows the story of Robbie Hart, a wedding singer who is left at the altar.

The romantic comedy is packed with 80s nostalgia and promises a "dynamic score full of toe-tapping tunes".

Tom, co-director of the production, said: "We’ve had an absolute blast recreating this iconic 80s world.

"Our cast has worked incredibly hard to bring every moment of this show to life with passion, humour, and plenty of wild hairstyles."
