CCTV images have been released after a serious assault in Hitchin town centre which left a motorist with multiple broken bones.
At around 8.30pm on Saturday, September 28, a man was driving in Market Square when he was pulled from his vehicle and assaulted.
The victim - in his 40s - suffered a concussion, a broken nose, four fractured ribs and required stitches to a cut on his lip. He is now recovering at home.
Officers believe the pair pictures could help with their investigation.
Detective Constable Kathryn Pink, from the North Herts Local Crime Unit, said: “We are releasing these images because we believe the two people pictured may have been in the area and could have information to assist our investigation.
“This incident happened on a busy Saturday night in the town centre and I know that several people came to the victim’s aid. If you saw what happened and have not already spoken to police, please get in touch with me as soon as possible.
“This is a shocking assault that left the victim with serious injuries and we are keen to progress the investigation quickly.”
