Video footage has emerged of a black Range Rover being stolen at a Fairfield property during the early hours of morning.

A statement from Bedfordshire police said: "Today (Thursday), police received a report that a vehicle was stolen from an address in Hitchin Road, Fairfield, at around 4.25am.

"An investigation is ongoing, and the force is carrying out several lines of enquiry."

The incident occurred in Fairfield, a small village between Stotfold and Letchworth.

In the video, a person dressed in a dark hooded coat with black and white shoes can be seen walking onto the driveway of the property and entering the car door on the left hand side.

The thief then attempts to start the car, eventually reversing the vehicle out of the driveway and driving up the road.

A witness who wished to remain anonymous said: "The perpetrator was dropped off and the car that dropped him followed him up the road once he had the car.

"The sensor lights at the property didn’t bother them clearly and they saw the ring doorbell which is why they seem to have gone in on the passenger side."
