Hitchin Forum is inviting residents to join its Autumn Clean-Up this month.
The forum runs litter-picking events twice a year, one in spring and one in autumn.
At the most recent spring event more than 120 participants of all ages took part, and cleaned up litter in over a dozen areas throughout Hitchin.
The Autumn Clean-Up will take place on Sunday, October 20, starting at 10am.
Organiser Bill Sellicks said: "There has been a fantastic response this time with a record number of registrations just two days after I contacted volunteers at the end of September.
"We have generally been lucky with the weather, but after so much rain this year, we are keeping fingers crossed.
"From what I know of our volunteers though, even if the weather isn’t so good, they will turn out and do a fantastic job.
