The green light has been given for phone masts to be installed in residential streets in Letchworth and Ashwell.
Openreach, on behalf of BT, wants to put a 10-metre high wooden pole outside homes in Letchworth's Rushby Mead for broadband purposes.
The company also wants to put a nine-metre high wooden pole outside the entrance to Ashwell Village Hall in West End, for the same reason.
Having consulted North Herts Council on the plans, a planning officer at the council told Openreach: "I confirm that the local planning authority has no objection to the siting and appearance of this proposal, and that there are no conditions the local authority would wish to impose."
This gives the green light for Openreach to go ahead with the plans.
