A decision is set to be made on plans for 15 new homes in Kimpton at a council meeting later this week.
North Herts Council's Planning Control Committee will decide if the development in High Street can go ahead when they meet at 7.30pm on Thursday (September 26).
The plans, submitted by Oxford University Endowment Management Limited, would see the homes built "on the western edge of the village and is part of a 1.60-acre agricultural field".
"The use of the site will be solely residential," the application continues.
"The site will deliver opportunities across a range of house types, sizes and tenures. This will include housing for sale across a range of prices, including an anticipated five affordable homes.
"The amount of development proposed is 15 new homes, making most efficient use of the site. The development will benefit the wider community by supporting local shops and services in the village."
Kimpton residents have objected to the plans, raising concerns about access and a loss of green space.
The Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust also opposed the application, claiming that "biodiversity net gain had not been proven".
