This year's Stevenage Charter Fair is being held today (September 23) and tomorrow, from 3pm until late.
The popular annual fair will see the High Street crammed with rides and stalls, including dodgems and waltzers, as well as smaller rides for young children and family favourites such as hook a duck.
Kiosks will also be selling burgers, hot dogs, sweets and candy floss.
A spokesperson for the charter fair said: "To all our followers who will turn up and come to this historic fair, cash is king. If you pay by cash, the showmen get 100 per cent of what you pay.
"If you pay by card, they lose a percentage, depending on what the card companies charge, and this can be high.
"So, if you can please pay by cash, this will allow our showmen to keep their charges down.
"Most of all, come along, enjoy all the fun of the fair, and support our way of life bringing fun to you.
"We thank you for your support."
The fair has been held in Stevenage since King Edward I granted the town Royal Charter in 1281, giving the right to hold a weekly market and yearly fair for all time.
