Hitchin's Priory Summer Series is officially making a return for 2025, after a star-studded festival this summer.

Craig David, Dizzee Rascal, Busted and Sister Sledge were this year's headline acts, with Scouting For Girls, De La Soul and JME also appearing.

Can we expect more stars coming to Hitchin for the 2025 edition? Here's four artists our reporters would like to see perform during the four-day festival.

1. Boney M.

Dan Mountney's suggestion is Boney M., one of the biggest disco acts of the 1970s.

Much like Sister Sledge, who wowed crowds on the final day of this year's Priory Summer Series, Boney M. have just one remaining original member, but with hits including Rasputin, Daddy Cool, Sunny, Ma Baker, Rivers of Babylon and Brown Girl in the Ring, they'll still have you dancing along.

They'd be perfect for the Sunday Soul theme.

2. Sugababes

The suggestion from our editor, Georgia Barrow, is certainly one for the girls.

Sugababes have seen somewhat of a resurgence since founding members Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy got the name back in 2019, and they'd certainly draw a crowd at Priory Summer Series.

With six UK number singles and countless top 10 hits to their name, the group are among Britain's best love pop acts from the 1990s and 2000s.

3. Bloc Party

Liam Fitzpatrick's suggestion is indie rockers Bloc Party.

The group were at the forefront of the genre during an era of dominance in the 2000s, but unlike most, they survived to perform to this day.

Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack are the only remaining original members, but having replaced Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong, Bloc Party continue to perform regularly.

While some may think indie died a death a mid-2000s alongside Heelys, garish cardigans from Topman, sending songs to your mates on Bluetooth and playing snake on a Nokia brick phone, there are still plenty who keep it alive and kicking.

While we're at it, why not have a celebration of British indie music on one of the days? Razorlight are still going, right?

4. Loyle Carner

A more modern suggestion from Huw Richards, who wants to see Loyle Carner at Summer Series.

After supporting a number of rappers during their tours, Carner hit the big time in 2017 when he released his debut album, Yesterday's Gone, which saw him received Mercury Prize and Brit Award nominations.

The hip-hop artists has garnered quite the following since and would certainly be a popular act if he performed in Hitchin next year.

Maybe he could even bring long-time collaborator Tom Misch with him.
