Stevenage MP Kevin Bonavia has teamed up with Airbus to host a UK space event in Parliament.
Yesterday, Wednesday, September 11, Kevin Bonavia MP hosted an event in Westminster to meet with companies from the Airbus UK Space Accelerator programme.
Launched in 2024, the programme aims to empower emerging companies by providing them with the support and resources they need to excel.
The day was an opportunity for the MP to discuss the significant contributions of the UK’s space industry, which is valued at £18.9 billion, and to highlight the role that businesses of all sizes play in driving its success.

MP Bonavia said: "I was delighted to hear from a range of companies, which are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space exploration and technology.
“The global space sector is set to triple by 2035, so it’s up to politicians to support the UK sector in expanding its capacity in the years ahead to ensure the UK retains our sovereign capabilities.”
The MP was “deeply proud" to have the Airbus UK HQ in Stevenage and highlighted that 25 per cent of the world satellites were made in the town.
“It’s a proud hallmark of the aspiration our town was built upon that Stevenage can play such a critical role as a global sector leader,” he added
“I’m very excited to see what the future holds for UK space.”
