Rain failed to dampen spirits in Letchworth last Sunday, as the town's Run Around The Garden proved to be a huge success once again.
Organised by Letchworth BID, with support from North Herts Road Runners, the 5k and one-mile races have become a popular part of the calendar.
Callum Webb from Higham Harriers won both men’s races, with Oliver Warburton and Matt Sayers from North Herts Road Runners taking the podium places in the 5k, while Shahab Ahmed and Elliott Jackson came close behind in the mile.
There was more success for Higham Harriers in the women’s races, as Kirstie Sharman won the 5k and came second in the mile, with Hannah Ridley from North Herts Road Runners finish second over the shorter distance before storming to mile glory.
The community stole the show with a whole host of fancy dress in both races, including Best Before Café running as vegetables. Plenty of children took part too, with the sun even making an appearance for the fun run.

This year's medals, sponsored by John O’Connor Grounds Maintenance, were made up of fully biodegradable recycled paper and card, as well as having embedded wildflower seeds to allow them to be planted.
Richard Harbon, Letchworth Garden City BID manager, said: "Thank you to everyone who ran, cheered, marshalled and supported this event.
"Another great day for Letchworth. A big thanks has to go to all the businesses who helped make this such a good day."
