Police have arrested a man in his 50s over a row which saw armed police called to a residential street in Hitchin.
A spokesperson for the force said police received reports of a row between two men in Moss Way just before 3pm yesterday (September 6), as one of which was thought to have a gun.
Hertfordshire Police believe the pair were driving in a grey Renault Clio and black BMW convertible at the time.
Armed officers were called to the scene as a precaution, where they arrested a man in his fifties on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
He has been bailed while enquiries continue, and officers are now appealing for information and witnesses over the incident.
Detective Constable Beth Talbot said: “We are appealing for information and any witnesses who saw what happened. The cars involved were a grey Renault Clio (16 plate) and a black BMW convertible (2009 plate).
