Emil Dale Academy is preparing to open its doors in Letchworth after an "intense build up" process.

The performing arts school is set to open on Saturday, September 21, following a relocation from Hitchin - taking over the former Grammar School on Broadway.

The academy is offering part time courses for ages 4 to 21 and full-time courses for ages 16+, offering further and higher education qualifications in collaboration with the University of Bedford.

Emil Dale, founder of the academy said: “2024 has been a whirlwind, but we’re so excited that we’re now ready to open our doors.

"I can’t wait to welcome everyone from Letchworth to come and have a look around in September – I’m so proud of what we have achieved and can’t wait to be a part of your wonderful community.

"How exciting to finally be able to say we are officially Emil Dale Academy – Broadway!”

On the official launch day residents and businesses are invited to join the team and see the new space, learn more about the courses on offer, and find out more about the Emil Dale Academy.

Specialising in performing arts, the academy describes itself as the "home of triple-threat musical theatre training in the UK!".

Graham Fisher, chief executive of Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, described the opening as a "great moment" for Letchworth and is excited to see the "fantastic impact" it will have on the town.

He said: "Bringing Emil Dale to town speaks directly to our key strategic aims, including making Letchworth a great place to grow up, making Letchworth known for its thriving cultural offer and improving prosperity and life chances.

"A very warm welcome to all the students heading to Letchworth.”
